A casual conversation that I had with my friend Andrew sparked a simple, yet profound idea:
what if we combined bluegrass and black metal?
The unique challenges involved with combining such drastically different musical genres has inspired and compelled me. I am wholly dedicated to making this happen… or finding out why it fails.
This blog will chronicle the process of creating Blood and Banjos, writing a story album, and producing what I hope will be some interesting, if not enjoyable, music.

Bloody brilliant!
I hope you don’t mind the following comparison…
(intended wholeheartedly as a compliment!)
…I’m a fan of the guitarist John 5 and this definitely conjures up an intriguing sense of his rather dark and unique style, which I love!
-hence my homage to John 5 last year: http://thejoelbb.wordpress.com/2012/04/24/sweet-dreams-for-marilyn-mansons-john-5/
So, rather intrigued to hear the finished album and best wishes guys in the hope your album absolutely kicks ass!
(-I just pledged on Kickstarter!)
